Masala Vadai
Ingredients:
To grind:
Channa Dhall - 2 Cups
Ginger 1 Big piece Crushed
Garlic 4 - 5 Pods
Cumin seeds 1/2 TSP
Fennel seeds 1/2 TSP
Red Chilli 2
Green Chilli 2
Raw Rice 1 TSP
Other Ingredients:
Onions finely chopped
Curry leaves
Grated Coconut 2 TSP (Optional)
Cilantro
Salt to taste
Procedure:
Soak the Channa Dhall for 2-3 hours. Drain and put them in a blender.
Add all of the grinding ingredients and then add the other ingredients and mix well using the hand. Take a small portion and make a small flat pattie out of the above dough and repeat to make some 15 to 20 such small patties.
Heat oil in a skillet and deep fry them till they turn golden brown. Drain any excess oil on a tissue and erve hot with Cutney or any spicy sauce.
